If we suspect that a data breach has occurred and it is likely to result in serious harm to individuals whose personal information is involved, we will:
take immediate steps to contain and assess the breach
where required, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme.
Even where formal notification is not required, we may still choose to inform affected individuals if it is appropriate and helps them protect themselves.
11. How long we keep personal information
We keep personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, contracts or professional obligations.
When information is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it, subject to any legal record-keeping requirements.
12. Access to and correction of your personal information
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if you believe it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
To do this, please contact us using the details in section 14. We may need to verify your identity before providing access or making changes.
In some cases, we may not be able to give you access to certain information (for example, where doing so would unreasonably impact the privacy of others, reveal commercially sensitive information, or we are legally prevented from doing so). If that happens, we will tell you why.
13. Complaints and concerns
If you have a question or concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first. We will:
